A Peek Into My Life

About Me

I’m Sugar, a 21-year-old tattoo and piercing artist who fell in love with body art at 16 when my aunt gifted me my first tattoo machine for my birthday. From that moment on, I never put it down. What started as a teenage obsession turned into my passion, my style, and my career. I specialize in bold, clean linework with soft watercolor touches—a mix of strength and softness that represents both my art and my personality. I work out of a private space inside Pretty Pink Tingz in Allegan, offering tattoos, piercings, tooth gems, and Y2K-inspired extras that help my clients feel confident and comfortable.

My Roots & Motivation

Family is at the center of everything I do. My mom passed away in 2009, and she has been my biggest motivation ever since. I feel her cheering me on with every step I take. My grandparents, who helped raise me, recently moved out of state to travel the world in their RV, but they continue to support me from wherever they are.

My aunt—the one who gave me my first machine—has always been one of my strongest supporters, and her daughter, my cousin, has been right beside me through every milestone. Their love and encouragement shaped the artist and person I am today.

Working at Pretty Pink Tingz

Pretty Pink Tingz is owned by Sky (Delila), and working with her has been its own adventure. We’re similar to sisters—sometimes we disagree, sometimes we’re perfectly in sync—but we always rely  to mutual respect and creativity. Being part of her studio has added personality, color, and good energy to my journey, and I’m grateful for the environment she built.

My Little Family

Outside the studio, my heart belongs to Josh. We’ve been together since March 2024, and he has become one of my biggest supporters. We share two dogs, Dax and Moo, and he has three children that I proudly claim as my own. They give my life purpose, joy, and motivation. Josh listens to my ideas, my rants, my wins, and my worries. Our life together is loud, chaotic, loving, and real. Josh supports me in ways that matter the most. He listens when I’m stressed, pushes me when I doubt myself, and celebrates every win no matter how small. He’s the person who reminds me to keep going when the work gets overwhelming and the one who believes in my art even on the days I don’t. Whether it’s helping with the kids, calming my anxiety, or just being there at the end of a long day, he gives me the kind of stability and encouragement that makes it easier to chase my goals.

My Purpose as an Artist

When I’m not tattooing or piercing, I’m sketching, planning, or finding inspiration in everyday moments. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and creating art that truly matters to them. My goal with every client is simple: to make every person feel safe, welcome, understood, and excited to express themselves.

P.S. — A Little Secret

Most people only know me as Sugar.
But if you’ve read this far, my real name is Jasmine.
Keep it between us. It means something to me.
